Have a unique chimpanzee trekking experience at the Gombe Stream National Park, the smallest of Tanzania's national parks. This park, settled in a fragile strip of chimpanzee habitat, is straddling the steep slopes and river valleys that hem in the sandy northern shore of Lake Tanganyika. This tour will also give you a chance to enjoy nature walks in the forest and to visit other attractions like the beautiful Kakombe Waterfalls.

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and be driven to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you will be taken to Ujiji Village, where you will visit Doctor Livingstone Memorial Center, and you will proceed to Kibirizi Port for your boat ride to Gombe Stream National Park. You will be picked up and driven to the rest house for a hot lunch and then out for an evening chimpanzee trek in the forest. Gombe Stream’s main attraction is obviously the chimpanzee families that live protected in the park’s boundaries. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in Gombe Stream’s tropical forests, including colobus monkey, baboon, forest pig, dik dik, and various tropical birds which inhabit the dense forest.
After an early breakfast, you will take off for an amazing morning chimpanzee tracking in the forest. You will also visit Kakombe Waterfalls, which is one of the best attractions in the park. If time allows, you can climb Jane’s Peak, where you will have a chance to enjoy the view of the park. Meals and your overnight stay will be at Gombe Rest House.
After breakfast, you will take off for chimpanzee trekking in different valleys, do walking in the forest, and visit Mkenge Water Wall. In the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for lunch, pack your stuff, and transfer back to Kigoma Town in the evening.
After an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up and travel back to the airport for your flight back to Dar es Salaam. This is where your safari will end.
